UPSLP Students Winners in the Marketplace Simulator Contest 2022

On May 16th, the award ceremony of the Marketplace 2022 Simulator Contest was held virtually, in which 10 universities in the country participated, both public and private, including the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP) in conjunction with the Department of International Marketing (LMI), the headquarters of the contest.

The contest was organized by Marketplace Simulation Mexico and was held from May 2nd to 15th, with the participation of 24 teams.

The event was attended by Mr. Gustavo Sánchez Peralta and Mrs. Claudia Burgos Mateos, General and Administrative Directors of Marketplace Simulation Mexico; Francisco Javier Delgado Rojas, Rector of the UPSLP, Dr. Francisco Rafael Rostro Contreras, Academic Vice-Rector; Xóchitl Hernández Velázquez, Academic Coordinator of the LMI Educational Program; and representatives of other universities, advisors of the teams and of course, the participating students. During the ceremony, various teams, advisors and students who stood out for their commitment, responsibility and performance were given a special mention. On behalf of the UPSLP, the faculty advisors were: Martha Almendarez, Sandra Flores and Dr. Renée Dueñas, who, together with the teams made up of eighth-semester students of the LMI Educational Program, obtained the first three places in the contest: the third place was won by the “R Bike” team, formed by José Iván Cervantes Venegas, Erandi Contreras Vázquez, Christian Alexis Hernández Hipólito and Rocío Guadalupe Martínez Ortiz; the second place, the “GE – WINNER” team, formed by Karla Elizabeth Carrizales, Carolina Estefanía García Ortiz, Alberto Rivera Cura and Samantha Puente Saucedo. Both teams were advised by Martha Almendarez. The first place was won by the “Bike’ n Innovation” team made up of Juan Eduardo Blanco García, Andrea Yariana Cardiel Díaz de León, María Paula de León Ibarra and Claudia Angélica Vargas Silva, advised by Mtra. Sandra Flores.

The objective of this activity was to develop decision-making skills through the simulator business game conducted Marketplace Simulation Mexico. The game was based on information and statistics provided in order to be able to conduct business in the international arena. It is important to mention that the contest was developed by combining previous training sessions and feedback meetings with the competing teams during the development period.

The participating universities were: Iberoamericana Mexico City, Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH), Higher Education Institute of Tepeji del Río, Autonomous University of Guadalajara (UAG), Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP), Intercontinental University (UIC), Mesoamerica University San Luis Campus, Modelo Univeresity Campus Merida, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), National Higher Education Institute Campus León (ENES León) and Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP).
