The Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí and the Secretary of Public Safety and Citizen Protection Sign an Agreement of Collaboration

On Friday, May 27th, the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí and the Secretary of Public Safety and Citizen Protection of the City Council of San Luis Potosí finalized the signing of an agreement of collaboration as part of the Plan for the Formation of the Cyber Police Headquarters in the Municipality of San Luis Potosí.

The agreement has as its objectives to equip officers with expertise in cybersecurity through the Cyber Crimes Unit (UDI) of the UPSLP, to certify officers from the Cyber Police Unit in CompTIA, EC-Council, Cisco and Microsoft, to collaborate on the development of projects of technologies applied to public safety, and to strengthen the culture of cyber prevention through the generation of joint campaigns between the two institutions. In addition, this collaboration will favor the development and acquisition of specialized cybersecurity experience by students from the departments of Information Technologies Engineering (ITI) and Telematics -Networks and Telecommunications Engineering (ITEM-IRTEL).

It is important to mention that this agreement is part of the efforts made by the Cyber Crimes Unit (UDI) to strengthen collaboration and specialized training for the student community.

The following were present at the signing of the Agreement: Víctor Hugo Salgado Delgadillo, Trustee of the City Council of San Luis Potosí, on behalf of Enrique Galindo Ceballos, Municipal President of San Luis Potosí; Juan Antonio de Jesús Villa Gutiérrez, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection of the Municipality of San Luis Potosí; Erick de León Abundis, Director of Technologies and Social Intelligence of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection; Servando López Contreras, Director of Intelligence; Armando Gómez Pérez, Director of C4; and Chief Inspector Manolo Balderas Ochoa, Director General of the Municipal Guard. On behalf of the UPSLP, Francisco Javier Delgado Rojas, Rector of the UPSLP; Dr. Francisco Rafael Rostro Contreras, Academic Vice-Rector; Igor León O’Farrill, Director of Administration and Finance; Dr. Francisco Cruz Ordaz Salazar, Chair of the Departments of Information Technologies Engineering (ITI) and Telematics-Networks and Telecommunications Engineering (ITEM-IRTEL); and Mr. Rafael Llamas Contreras, Head of the Computer Crimes Unit (UDI).

The Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí reiterates its commitment to collaboration on projects and initiatives that strengthen the training of students and that are of benefit to the Potosi society!
