The Regional Research Network for Institutions of Higher Education and the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP) in conjunction with the Academic Committee on Local Development and Business Competitiveness will carry out the 6th Regional Research Seminar for Institutions of Higher Education on October 17th and 18th both face-to-face, at the UPSLP campus, as well as online.
This year, the theme of the seminar is “Sustainable Development Goals and their Implementation Strategy. Case Studies from Companies, Government and Higher Education Institutions”, which is aimed at teachers, researchers, public officials, entrepreneurs, professionals, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and the general public. Its objective is to promote the dissemination of knowledge to encourage the culture of action among people and institutions (public, private and social) to contribute to the progress and fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals through the participation of experts who present their experiences through methodologies, theories, case studies or measurement of progress on such goals.
The Sustainable Development Goals and Targets were established in 2015 by the General Assembly of the United Nations and represent the framework to advance in overcoming the main challenges facing humanity in the near future. The evaluation of the goals will be carried out in 2030.
The Regional Research Seminar is also a space to address issues of interest and priority local-regional problems so that, through the participation of experts, specialists, researchers and public officials working on related issues, case studies, methodologies and activities-products of scientific research (basic or applied) are disseminated that help the various audiences to understand and define actions to advance in the resolution of such problems. In addition, the leaders of Academic Committees or Research Groups of Institutions of Higher Education – national or foreign – may formalize their interest in belonging to the “Regional Research Network for Institutions of Higher Education” through the signing of an Agreement of Collaboration.
