On Monday, October 10th, Dr. Ma. Guadalupe Ortiz López, professor in the Department of Manufacturing Technology Engineering at the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP) was recognized as a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

The IEEE is the world’s largest professional technical organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE members inspire the global community through their publications, conferences, technology standards, and frequently cited professional and educational activities.

Being a Senior Fellow means having the highest IEEE professional degree a member can have. It requires extensive experience and reflects achievement and professional maturity. Only 10% of IEEE’s more than 400,000 members have reached this level.
