Víctor Manuel Fernández Mireles, full-time professor in the Department of Information Technology Engineering at the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP), received the recognition as Unity Education Ambassador, which is given by the video game engine company Unity 3D.  The Unity Education Ambassador program aims to comprehensively support teachers from other parts of the world in the following areas:

• Advising teachers on classroom best practices for using the Unity 3D platform.
• Sharing with teachers students’ experiences with projects on the Unity 3D platform.
• Sharing with teachers students’ certification experiences on the Unity 3D platform.
• Proposing challenges to be applied in the classroom.
• Solving common problems teachers face with the Unity platform.

The above was created with the purpose of improving the experience of students of the world in the use of this platform.

To give this recognition, Unity 3D evaluated the following elements: certification as a Unity Programmer and Virtual Reality (VR) Developer with Unity, certification of students as programmers in Unity and VR  Developers as well as a portfolio of projects carried out with students on the Unity 3D platform, among which, the following stand out:

• The video games “Mr. LAG and MetaLAG” in collaboration with the Department of Business Studies during Administration and Management Week.
• The video game “The Revenge of Tlaloc”, created for participation in the National Science and Technology Week.
• The interactive Augmented Reality (AR) system for a Kuka Robot, in collaboration with the Department of Engineering in Manufacturing Technologies.
• The video game in Virtual Reality (VR) “Azios Leyendas Potosinas”, recognized by the MX National Video Game Contest and made in collaboration with the Department of International Marketing and the Department of Telematic Engineering– Networks and Telecommunications-.
• The promotional video “CyberUP” created for the Department of Informational Technology Engineering using cinematics in Unity.

In addition, Víctor Manuel Fernández Mireles, upon being appointed Unity Education Ambassador will have access to benefits such as: recognition via a digital badge, free access to Unity products, and invitations to ambassador events, to name a few.
