UPSLP Professor Receives Recognition for Important Contribution to the Cyber Police in San Luis Potosí

As part of a collaboration agreement between the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP) and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) of the City Council of San Luis Potosí, Rafael Llamas Contreras, full-time professor from the Department of Engineering in Information Technologies (ITI), and head of the Computer Crime Unit (UDI) of our University, received recognition for being a strategic ally in the process of forming the Municipal Cyber Police of the SSPC of the City Council of San Luis Potosí.

The ceremony took place on Tuesday, February 7th and was chaired by Commissioner Juan Antonio de Jesús Villa Gutiérrez, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection of the Municipality of San Luis Potosí; Erick Javier de León Abundis, General Director of Technologies and Social Intelligence and, Servando López Contreras, Director of Social Intelligence.

Since May 2022, the UPSLP and the SSPC of the City Council of San Luis Potosí, have collaborated in the initial and continued training of officers specializing in cybersecurity through the UDI of the UPSLP, in turn strengthening the culture of cyber-prevention as well as the development of the students studying Engineering in Information Technologies (ITI) and Engineering in Telematics-Networks and Telecommunications (ITEM-IRTEL) with a focus on the field of cybersecurity.
