As part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Cisco Networking Academy Program, Liliana Gámez Zavala and Genaro Niño Carrales, professors from the Department of Information Technology Engineering of the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP), attended the “Instructor Day Mexico 2023”, which took place on April 26th and 27th at Westhill University, in Mexico City.  During this event, the UPSLP was recognized for having implemented the Cisco Networking Academy Program from the very beginning, and Genaro Niño received recognition as an ambassador for the 25 years he has been active in the program and for promoting the talent of young students and future professionals. In addition, both professors were recognized for their enthusiastic participation as instructors.

The “Instructor Day Mexico 2023” brought together Cisco instructors with the aim of sharing the challenges facing society in terms of training and education, mainly in teaching new trends in the area of technology as well as the importance of preparing for an increasingly digitized world. It was organized into conferences, panels, workshops, among other activities, allowing instructors to learn about teaching-learning strategies in networking, programming and network security as well as getting to know the Cisco solutions portfolio and technological trends. An employer forum was held, where perspectives and experiences were shared with graduates of different universities who have skills within the Cisco Networking Academy program, as well as the expectations of the workers of the future.

For Liliana Gámez and Genaro Niño, it was a pleasure to meet instructors who were trained at the UPSLP Training Center, especially Óscar Toríz Herez, who graduated from the Telematics Engineering Program in 2010 with a CCNA certificate and who is today a member of the Talent Incubation and Customer Experience Program of Cisco Mexico with 8 years of seniority in the company.

In this way, the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí reaffirms and continues with the commitment to innovating and sharing best practices with the community of instructors and, above all, to train professionals of excellence who are prepared for what society and companies demand today.
