UPSLP Professors from the COIL Program Complete Academic Exchange at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador

As part of the institutional project COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning), three professors from the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP) completed an academic exchange at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE), in Quito, Ecuador, from May 8th to 13th.

The objective of the mobility project is to contribute to the internationalization and development of a global vision by the UPSLP teaching staff to impact the graduation profile of students through the implementation of significant learning strategies that contribute to the development of multiculturalism skills and competencies and,  in the medium and long term, strengthen the academic and research links of the UPSLP with universities in other countries.

The professors who participated were: Dr. Luisa Renée Dueñas Salmán, with the project “Diagnosis of international markets”, and Dr. Mario Cortes Garay, with the project “Technology applied to international business”, both aimed at sixth semester students majoring in International Marketing; Paola Gisela Gutiérrez Sánchez, with the project “Descriptive Statistics Ecuador – Mexico”, for fourth semester students, and Alicia Esther Palazuelos Maldonado, with the project “Process analysis tools”, for sixth semester students majoring in Engineering in Systems and Industrial Technologies.

During the academic exchange, they had a PUCE – UPSLP working meeting for the analysis of double degrees and research projects between Academic Bodies. In addition, they carried out activities such as: class with COIL project subject; Symposium “Influence of Information Technologies in Business”, connections with the business sector with the visit to the flower farm “Hoja Verde”.

The COIL Project was implemented in 2021. From that year to the Fall 2022 semester, 1,050 UPSLP students participated, and a total of 2,031 considering UPSLP and foreign students, giving a total of 33 projects and 13 participating universities from 7 countries. In addition, other actions have been carried out, such as participation in conferences and affiliation with international organizations, and face-to-face mobility projects, among others.

In the Spring 2023 semester, 9 projects were registered, with a total participation of 412 UPSLP students.
