As part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the CISCO Networking Academy Program, the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP) was awarded the Premier ASC distinction at the Academy Conference of Latin America and the Caribbean, which was held on May 24th, 25th and 26th in Mexico City. In this way, the commitment of the University to advance towards the success of the students and instructors within this program is recognized, with a focus on students collaborating in the professional training of the student community and their incorporation into the world of work.
The Academy Conference of Latin America and the Caribbean is the most important regional update event of the Cisco Networking Academy Program, in which topics of education, learning, innovation and community collaboration are developed. In this edition, institutions and organizations from different countries such as Peru, Costa Rica, Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador, among others, participated. Several leaders were in attendance, including Laura Quintana, Vice President & General Manager Cisco Networking Academy; Rebeca de la Vega, Senior Leader Cisco Networking Academy Latin America and the Caribbean; and Isidro Quintana, Managing Director Cisco Mexico, who, through the different conferences, workshops and panels, emphasized the great challenges for universities in terms of Digital Acceleration, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, as well as the importance of certifications for the strengthening of skills for the work of future Information Technology (IT) talent.
During the forum, plans and improvements of the Cisco Networking Academy program for the coming years were shown with the inclusion of new curricula in the Skills for All platform and Netacad. The UPSLP contributed to the panel of the New Certifications of Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) sponsored by Certipor, because the University is a Certification Center of this important company.
Mexico continues to be one of the countries highlighted by its level of graduates, certificates, number of registered students, variety of educational offer and the quality of teachers in the program. Therefore, the recognition by an external organization at an international level speaks favorably of educational quality offered by the UPSLP. The professors who are part of the university strive and work so that the new generations have professional training with the level of demand that the workplace demands with best practices, content and constant updating.
In this event, on display was how all the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean are on the way to developing a competitive workforce and how governments have joined this movement to strengthen the experience of students and their skill profiles.
