UPSLP Students Invited to Participate in the 11th Young Researchers Meeting in the State of San Luis Potosí

On Friday, September 22nd, faculty from the postgraduate department of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP) paid a visit to campus to deliver an informative talk to students at the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP) in order to invite them to participate in the 11th Young Researchers Meeting in the state of San Luis Potosí.

The UPSLP has been participating in the organizing committee of the Young Researchers Meeting since the first edition, through the presentation of projects by students, with workshops given by UPSLP researchers, as well as in project evaluation activities.

The objective of this meeting is that students from different institutions of higher education of the state of San Luis Potosí have the opportunity to participate in a state meeting with young people pursuing bachelor’s degrees and technical certifications with interests in scientific, development and innovation activities in order to give them the opportunity to develop their academic potential through the advances or results of their projects (including thesis,  residencies, professional visits, special projects of creativity and innovation), and put at their disposal the areas of opportunity in science, technology and innovation, motivating them to dedicate themselves professionally to these activities.

The Meeting of Young Researchers contributes mainly to:

  • Identify talents for science, development, and innovation activities.
  • Involve public and private institutions of higher education and public research centers of San Luis Potosí in joint activities of induction of students to scientific and technological work.
  • Identify areas of opportunity for the creation and development of joint research projects and graduate programs.

In the informative talk, it was mentioned to the students that some other institutions participating in this event are: Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP), the University of Central Mexico (UCEM), the Potosino Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (IPICyT), the Technological Institute of San Luis Potosí, the San Luis College, the Higher Technological Institute of San Luis Potosí,  Capital, the (ITSLP), Technological University of San Luis Potosí (UTSLP) and Center for Advanced Technology, CIATEQ.

Finally, UPSLP students were invited to participate by presenting the results of a scientific research, innovation, or development project. In order to promote multidisciplinarity and in congruence with the motto of this meeting, students will identify one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to which their project is the most related:

The Meeting is aimed at undergraduate or higher technical university students who have covered at least 50% of their educational program, interns and recent graduates (as of May 2022), endorsed by an official document, from all areas of study.

Interested young people should submit their application for participation through the registration platform that is open on the site www.sip.uaslp.mx until September 29th.

The event will be held on three consecutive Thursdays,  the 9th, 16th and 23rd of November, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in a hybrid format.

The UPSLP invites the student community to join this event of scientific significance.
