The National Entrepreneurship Tournament is a high-impact learning event that uses a business simulator, where students receive training on the main topics of entrepreneurship and then compete among the participating teams in the Marketplace Simulation business simulator, applying and practicing the knowledge acquired.
This year, the Polytechnic University of Aguascalientes (UPA) hosted the 2023 National Entrepreneurship Tournament. The inauguration and closing of the event were attended by the Rector of the UPA, Mr. Otto Granados Franco and Mr. Juan Fernando Aguirre Sámano, Director of the Academic Program of the Bachelor ‘s Degree in International Business as well as the academic authorities of our institution.
On behalf of the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí (UPSLP), three teams participated in the Expert category, which were winners of the Tournament. First place went to the Bike Pop team of the Bachelor ‘s in International Marketing Degree Program, which was made up of Aneth Maute García Hernández, Maximiliano Guillén Palomo, Zayra Miroslava Rivera Velázquez and Ana Victoria Flores Gutiérrez. Special recognition was given to the students Alberto Rivera Cura and Sergio Juárez López for their advice and constant support to this team as well as to Martha Elena Almendarez, who has played a pivotal role in driving the use of the simulator and the participation of LMI students.
The second place was obtained by the Interstellar team, made up of Dannia Fernanda Guerra Enríquez, Adrian André García Galarza, Carlos Zepeda Carreón and Dante Samuel Martínez Torres from Business Administration Bachelor’s Program, under the guidance of Mr. Raúl Villafuerte Fernández.
Third place went to the EcoCycleo team, made up of Lisset Alejandra Huerta Sandoval, Juan Pablo Santoyo Saenz, Idania Edith Hernández López and Oscar Eduardo Tudón Leija, from Business Administration Bachelor ‘s Program. The team had the support and guidance of Dr. Renée Dueñas Salmán, who this year has been the manager, on behalf of the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí.
It is important to highlight that the National Entrepreneurship Tournament, in its 2023 edition, had more than 35 participating teams from renowned educational institutions, such as the Chetumal Model University, Polytechnic University of Quintana Roo, National Technological University of Mexico Querétaro Campus, Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, Polytechnic University of Aguascalientes, Madero University, Veracruzana University, University of Sonora, Higher Technological Institute of the Sierra Norte de Puebla, Cristóbal Colón University, Ibero Torreón University, Polytechnic University of the Toluca Valley and the Mérida Model University.
This achievement reflects the talent and dedication of our students and underscores the importance of continuing to foster entrepreneurship among the university community.
