On Thursday, November 16th, the Opening Ceremony of the 11th Meeting of Young Researchers in the state of San Luis Potosí was held at the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí.
The event was attended by Dr. Amaury de Jesús Pozos Guillén, Secretary of Research and Graduate Studies of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, on behalf of Dr. Alejandro Javier Zermeño Guerra, Rector of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí; Karol Romo Bolaños, Vice-Rector for Educational Management, on behalf of Gerardo Maya González, Rector of the University of Central Mexico; Dr. Luis Antonio Salazar Olivo, Director of the Potosino Institute for Scientific and Technological Research; M.C. José Diego Bárcenas Torres, Director of the Technological Institute of San Luis Potosí; Laura Luz García Lumbreras, Director of the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de San Luis Potosí; Dr. José Armando Hernández Soubervielle, Academic Secretary of El Colegio de San Luis on behalf of Dr. David Eduardo Vázquez Salguero, President of El Colegio de San Luis; Dr. Mario Alberto Martínez Rojas, Rector of the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí; Dr. Esperanza Aguillón Robles, Rector of the Technological University of San Luis Potosí; Luz Elena de la Rosa Hernández, Manager of CIATEQ Center for Advanced Technology San Luis Unit; and Rosa María Martínez Robles, General Director of the Higher Technological Institute of Rioverde.
The Meeting of Young Researchers in the state of San Luis Potosí has been organized for 11 years in order to motivate young undergraduate students to carry out science, technology, and innovation work that helps them in their training processes and allows them to awaken the interest in continuing with postgraduate studies as well as promoting scientific and technological work as an option for professional development. Students in the last year of their bachelor’s degree, interns, and graduates from 2021 to the present year from all areas of knowledge and from all public and private institutions of higher education in the state of San Luis Potosí can participate.
After the inauguration event, the round table “Interdisciplinary Collaboration Between Students: Extramural Laboratory (LEMUR)” was held by Rodrigo Dávila Ortiz, Dr. Fredy Alexander Alvarado Roberto and Dr. Braulio Gutiérrez Medina; and various workshops were held.
It is important to mention as part of the strengths of the Meeting, an Organizing Committee is created in which several institutions of higher education of the state participate, such as: University of Central Mexico, Potosino Institute of Scientific and Technological Research, Technological Institute of San Luis Potosí, Higher Technological Institute of San Luis Potosí, El Colegio de San Luis, Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí, Technological University of San Luis Potosí, CIATEQ Center for Advanced Technology, Higher Technological Institute of Rioverde and Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí.
