Degree description:

In Systems and Industrial Technologies Engineering seeks to prepare students in the 5 major areas of Industrial Engineering such as: Production, Quality, Materials Supplies, Productivity and Safety, all under a systemic and relevant approach, with the transmission of the most current knowledge in terms of methodologies, tools and software applicable to production processes and services. In addition to technology, it seeks to prepare students to manage and direct staff.

Initially and as part of the preparation in Engineering, the subjects that the student will study are based primarily on mathematical and science reasoning, on the use of information and communication technologies and on the creation of study and psychosocial habits that facilitate their academic and work development.

As they advance in their degree, more and more specific subjects of the field of Engineering in systems and industrial technologies are incorporated, to finish with specialized subjects in the most modern knowledge; being integrating subjects that allow the achievement of competences required their field of work; including English. At the end of their degree, ISTI students must complete a 480-hour internship, where they can live practically what was seen in the classrooms; although in many of the subjects of ISTI there must be final projects of application in the industry that allow an experiential approach early in their degree; as well as when doing internships.

The most outstanding students with a good level of English can access the industry as of sixth semester through the dual program; a cooperative dual program of University - Business Training.

There is also the ongoing activity of chapter # 736 of the Institute for Industrial Engineers (IIE, http://www.iienet2.org/), where students organize academic development activities, social responsibility and economic funding to assist and organize national congresses (Puebla, Monterrey, Saltillo, Mérida, Villahermosa, Aguascalientes, Hermosillo, Ciudad Madero) and congresses and international visits (Cancun, Montreal, San Antonio, Houston and Nashville).

Dr. Luis Fernando Niño Luna - Coordinator of Eng. In Systems and Industrial Technologies

Dr. Luis Fernando Niño Luna is an Industrial Engineer in Production (ITSLP, 95). He has a Master's Degree in Quality Systems (ITESM, 01) and a Doctorate in Lean Manufacturing for Mexican SMEs (UPSLP - Orgmasz Institute, 10).

He joined the UPSLP in 2003. He is currently a professor - Researcher Level "B", holds the profile since 2010 and is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), was part of the National System of Researchers from 2010 to 2013. He is an auditor leader certified for ISO 9001 and has preparation for the use of software such as Minitab and SAP B1.

He is coordinator of Systems and Industrial Technologies Engineering at the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí. He has almost 15 years of experience as a teacher in higher education and 10 years of experience in the implementation of industrial systems and methodologies in various Mexican companies.

Being its areas of interest, those related to quality and design, improvement and implementation of lean production systems, both in manufacturing and service companies. He has presented several papers and published articles internationally.

MBA Patricia Castillo Galván

The teacher Patricia Castillo Galván has a degree in Industrial Design from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and also has a Master's degree in Administration, a degree she obtained at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí.

He has 12 years of experience in the industry in areas of project management, direct raw material purchases and development of new products and suppliers (investment project management). With 10 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level, she currently holds the appointment of Professor and Researcher at the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí with a Level B attached to the Academy of Systems Engineering and Industrial Technologies.

The research areas in which she works are: productivity and industrial safety with an emphasis on human factors and ergonomics, standard work, safety and hygiene, environment and sustainability.

She has certifications as a Professional in Engineering and Design of Packaging and Packaging (IMPEE), Basic MOST Applicator (Accenture), Internal Quality Auditor ISO 9001: 2008, Auditor of Environmental Management Systems and Occupational Safety and Health ISO 14001: 2004 / OHSAS 18001: 2007, Internal Auditor in Quality System ISO / TS 16949: 2002 and Quality Core Tools.

MA Juan Carlos Portales Rodríguez

Maestro Juan Carlos Portales Rodríguez is a Mechanical Engineer Administrator (UASLP 1995). He has a Master's Degree in Administration with a Specialty in Strategic Marketing (UVM, 02), where he received the "Lince de Oro" award for graduating with the highest average of his generation.

He joined the UPSLP in 2004 as a subject teacher and in 2009 as a full-time professor, having taught mainly in the academies of ISTI, LAG and LMKT. He is currently a professor - Researcher Level "A", is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), was certified in CPIM of APICS from 2009 to 2014. Has certifications in ISO 9001: 2008, ISO / TS16949, ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS ISO 18001: 2007, in Engineering and Development of Packaging and Packaging (IMPEE) and has a diploma of SAP Business One software.

He has almost 11 years of experience as a teacher in higher education and 7 years of experience in the automotive industry. He has co-authored an International Trade book of ITESO and published in the magazine Inbound Logistics.

Being its areas of interest, those related to the development and design of packaging and packaging, programming and control of production, specifically with the Master Planning of Production and Manufacturing Requirements (MRP II), the International Logistics and the development of didactic practices related to the SAP Business One Program.

MBA Mónica Marcela Zaldívar Muñoz

Es Ingeniera Industrial y de Sistemas (IIS ‘95) por el Tecnológico de Monterrey campus San Luis Potosí, graduada con Mención honorífica; grado de Maestría en Alta Dirección (MBA, 2003) por la Universidad de Quebec en Montreal, con Reconocimiento a la Mejor Alumna de la generación. Actualmente cursando Doctorado en Educación.

Ha colaborado como Docente e investigador en la Universidad Politécnica de San Luis Potosí por 15 años, en la academia de Ingeniería Industrial, desarrollando material didáctico, prácticas e investigación en la línea de Manufactura Esbelta, bajo el Sistema de Producción Toyota. Cuenta con certificaciones como Green Belt en la metodología de SixSigma, Lean System Operational Excellence, Auditor interno en Sistema de Calidad ISO/TS 16949:2002, diploma del software SAP Business One, entre otros. Ha participado en el programa de encadenamiento productivo de SEDECO a nivel local, fomentando el uso de metodologías y herramientas de clase mundial en las PYMES.

Actualmente coordina la 9ª generación del Programa Dual Formación Universidad-Empresa, alumnos COOP, fungiendo como tutor y vínculo con las empresas contratantes de los alumnos inscritos en el programa.

Líder de Proyecto CIEES para la evaluación del programa educativo de ISTI buscando el reconocimiento Nivel 1, que garantice una matrícula de buena calidad. Es integrante del padrón de Pares Evaluadores de CACEI (Consejo de Acreditación de la Enseñanza de la Ingeniería, A.C) en el área de Ingeniería Industrial.

Anterior a su actividad docente se desarrolló por seis años en la industria automotriz (Cummins) y ferroviaria (GETS) como Coordinador de Materiales.
